Fleeting moments, lasting impressions

Stephanie Nicole Kuk (“cook”) - Seneca Polytechnic Graduate 2026 of Floral Design. And this is my precious dog, Milo (he is also the inspiration to the logo).

Whenever someone asks me “so, Steph - how did you decide on this field?” I must admit: I did not find flowers, flowers found me.

For the longest time I had always found flowers beautiful, but also pointless - they were as premium as they were impermanent. It wasn’t until back in 2023 when my mother suddenly passed, as I stood in the service hall, surrounded by an abundance of flowers, I was overcome with how each bloom was a testament to how much she was loved and cherished.

That was when I realized how powerful flowers really were.

That profound realization soon sparked a sense of purpose I couldn’t ignore, and in 2025 that was when I decided to start my journey at Seneca College. It was an invaluable experience that opened many more doors for me, and I am excited to see where this lifetime of flowers and creativity will take me.
